Here we are in the first day of the second week of the 10 day workshop. We have worked with lacquer, flour, and sabi which is jinoko and lacquer to get to this stage. The green pieces look very nice.

Ｋｉｎｔｓｕｇｉ workshop, Nara, Japan, end of first week.
The first week of the 2 week kintsugi workshop is finished. We will go to Shigaraki tomorrow and let everything dry Saturday and Sunday. There are 2 pieces we are focusing on out of a number in the muro.
The advanced metal work part has been finished but from now on we will do ‘live’ practice.

Here are some photos of the final day of the workshop. The piece is drying and will be finished during the upcoming 10 day workshop. There is one photo of dinner. Raw chicken, eaten raw. No one died of salmonella poisoning so I guess everything is good.

Current kintsugi projects
Here is what I am working on.
The glaze repair bowls had bubbled glaze when they came out of the kiln. I have used a grinder to get that off and now have a good base of lacquer which I am sanding. One I will finish in gold, the other in silver.
The chip bowl is one I was going to do yobitsugi on but decided to just build it up instead. I will use hemp fiber on it.

I am about to apply gold to this guinomi. This photo shows the red lacquer application.
