Traditional, lacquer based kintsugi, step 10

I am applying gold over red. Things to note. I don’t use my wrist to spread the gold, I use a pulling motion with my arm. That is, don’t use your wrist to move the brush, use your whole arm. Also, the technique is to keep your brush at about a 35 degree angle, a little more acute than a 45 degree angle. Then imagine your gold as acting as a mediator between the lacquer and your bristles. Also, I always pull the brush, don’t stab the bristles into the lacquer, it will get lacquer on your bristles and ruin the brush.

I am applying red over middle black in preparation for gold. Things to note. This video is about 10 minutes, I continued for about 50 more minutes after thinning and widening the line to the edges. I think let it dry for about 30 minutes in the muro. The first thing I did in preparation for widening and thinning is to run a line of lacquer down the middle of the seam.
