This video shows the application of high quality red lacquer as a substrate for powdered, pure gold to the inside of the bowl. There are many difficult angles so you will see me readjusting often to get the best angle for the brush.

I am applying red over middle black in preparation for gold. Things to note. This video is about 10 minutes, I continued for about 50 more minutes after thinning and widening the line to the edges. I think let it dry for about 30 minutes in the muro. The first thing I did in preparation for widening and thinning is to run a line of lacquer down the middle of the seam.
